Was at opus last night with friends and family. I had a great time until I’ve had one too many drinks. Everything else went downhill from there. Pretty memorable though..
Opted to do my homework but ended up working on my awesome karate moves instead.

I’ve been scouting around for different indian and filipino furnitures and accessories the whole week! My ID124 class has the privilege of doing a vignetted room styling for Real Living Magazine’s April 2012 issue! I’m so excited but I feel pressured at the same time. I’d post up the photos of the things I found but where’s the fun in that? It’ll ruin the ‘surprise’ factor. HAHA! Our group was assigned a fusion of indian/filipino for a living room space. SO WATCH OUT FOR THAT! I passed by whiteplains today to check out their plants as well. BUSY WEEK!
I really enjoyed talking to the furniture shop owners and making “chikka”
Johann dropped by and we had dinner at crave burger after :)

He doesn’t want to show his face to the camera. :))

Buy 1 take 1 burger rice set meal! :)

Johann’s order

My fave! nomnom.
That’s it for now! Back to work. :)
Finished rendering the room I drafted for my ID 31 presentation class last week.
Concept: “Around the world”
Pretty straightforward. I wanted to showcase a “traveller’s” room with collections of different artifacts and finds from around the globe.

I’m really liking the “more fun in the philippines” tourist slogan. It really enables us Filipinos to take part and show their own experiences in the Philippines. :) Here’s one that really cracked me up. HAHA! If you want to see other photos check out this page
Johann linked me to this site called digsdigs http://www.digsdigs.com and browsing through it inspired me all over again! Check these awesome photos out

Simple, but I like how everything is merged into one instead of having separate entities for every furniture.

I’d like to refer to the two bedrooms above as an “organized messed”. Ironic isn’t it? There seems to be clutter everywhere but it looks good that way.
If any of you guys are looking for interior design inspirations I suggest you check the site out! :)
Here are the first few plates that I’ve done for my ID 124 class. I just got it back from my professor a few days ago so I thought I’d post it up :)
PLATE #1A: Design a contemporary room with Filipino Pre-Colonial Accessories

“SILONG”
The concept of the interior pertains to the silong. A silong is an area found beneath the precolonial bahay kubo where most recreational activities take place. It is exposed to the natural environment and one can just set back and relax when residing in it. Like the silong, the interior is a haven for an individual to do their tasks. Nature is reflected in the use of colors and in the overall ambiance of the space.
Precolonial Accessories found:
1. Bulul (Found in the side table)
2. Maranao Baul (found at the foot of the bed)
3. Tampipi (found on the desk)
4. T’nalak (placed on top of the bed)
5. Banig (used it in the wall behind the bed)
PLATE 1B: Design a dining room with modern and spanish colonial furniture

“PAELLA”
The concept of this dining room pertains to a famous Spanish rice dish from Valencia Spain known as the paella. Paella is known for its exotic flavor, its richness in spices, and its vibrant appearance. The interior aims to reflect these characteristics found in the paella. Its vibrance is seen through the use of colors that stand out thus retaining an exotic ambience to the space. The mixture of moden and Spanish colonial Filipino furniture are fused together in a cohesive design just like how the different flavors in a paella compliment each other to form a delicious dish.
Furniture/accessories/architectural forms used:
1. Modern Filipino Lampshade (Found in myhome magazine special edition)
2. Spanish Colonial Baul
3. Sungkaan
4. Ventanillas
5. Lamesa
6. Mariposa Settee
7. Modern Lighting fixture
8. Oversized spoon and fork wall hanging
PLATE 1C: Design a living room with art deco furniture and art nouveau accessories

“FOLIAGE” (Forgive me the concept isn’t really evident in the actual drawing. HUHU. Crammed plate)
The concept of this living room is “foliage” because the interior aims to be a non-figurative representation of leaves. Leaves are an evident entity found in nature and with it we feel more tranquil and carefree. The living room should be a space for individuals who seek for a cozy atmosphere. Through the use of cool colors and foiliage accents, one may picture themselves in a mass of natures finest. (WEHHHH. OK IT DIDN’T REALLY DELIVER! HAHA SORRY!)
That’s all for now. Will update with more next time!
